Paco and Frank go on to Frank’s house in Beavercreek, Ohio, to pack some of Frank’s things and set off on their journey.

Fred takes the exit to Fairborn, Ohio, following Frank’s directions.
Action moves back to the parking lots of shabby apartment where Brahim, Boudi, Adnan, and Ali have been hanging out and inside the apartment.

Over the past year or so, several events show the continued instability in Yemen. Villagers in the north of Yemen continue to battle each other over control of territory. Saudis are accused of infiltrating to stir up trouble in Yemen. The U.S. worries out loud that Yemen will become the next staging area for al Qaeda. Is it any wonder that the community that is now in Lackawanna fled to get away from that. It is no surprise that al Qaeda in the form of Mohammad Fadel would tag along and get involved in activities in the US. And of course Omar would prefer to stay in the US and become the imam at the largest mosque in Washington DC rather than go back.

Here is where Brad goes to work. He takes this exit off the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, which as we see in a later chapter is only a short distance from his apartment.
He parks his car near where the blue NSA sign stands.
He then walks into the big NSA building where the Arabic language section is buried deep inside.

Brahim, Boudi, Ali, and Adnan stay in a shabby apartment in Fairborn, Ohio, near Patrick’s house. You can see them here from the front and the back. The apartment and the parking lot shown here in the back of the apartment, are locations for action in future chapters.

Patrick leaves the house that he and Elsie have rented–a down-market 1960s style house with a double garage–to drive to work. This house is also the setting for future action.
